Abstract
In this retrospective view of 55 Rh negative women with 162 total pregnancies(average of 2.9) and 98 deliveries(average of 1.8) over a 6-year period(1975¡­1981), a case(3. 8%) out of 29 ABO incompatible mating and 2 cases(6.9%) out of 29 ABO compatible mating were immunized with Rho (D) antigen.
The outline of these Rh negative studies were summarized in tables numbered from 1 to 9 with introduction of
phenotype and mostlikely genotype of Rh negative Korean and the birth of Rh negative babies.
Rh immune prophylaxis were done in 26 cases(47%) among 55 Rh negative women.
Three immunized cases of Rh negativen wome and their affected babies were briefly analysed with the management of Rh hemolytic disease of the newborn.
In the screening of Rh antibodies in 713 cases of Rh positive women belong to multigravida, a case(0. 14%) of rh""(E) immunization with hemolytic disease of the newborn was detected and analysed.
Importance of blood group antibody studies were discussed from the aspect of good obstetric and good pediatric care.
